Hannibal's 2nd Day of STAR Class

Hannibal had his second STAR class today. Of course I am his Mommy and thinks he is perfect...but he pretty much is. HA! Today we worked on getting them to sit and lay beside you, along with heel. I am the true training class dork. I have everything you can think of snapped to my side. I have the treat bag, a water bag, a poopie bag holder, an extra collar, and a toy. These are all things the trainer suggested we need, but I believe I am the only one dorky enough to bring them ALL. I, obviously, like to be prepared. HA!

I took him to PetsMart beforehand and I weighed him. Tomorrow he will be 24 weeks old and he weighed in today at exactly 65 pounds.

Well...my baby is getting huge. He is getting a little too heavy for me pick up now. He is doing great with his learning. We are working on STAY now.

I am so thankful to have the help of the breeder. I have emailed her about once a week since I got Hannibal and she has been great. She still has some pups available if anyone is interested. I know that everyone loves Hannibal.

Here are some more recent pics.
You can tell how big he is getting.

Hannibal's 2nd Day of Class

Hannibal had his 2nd day of class today. We worked on heal, sit, and play time. He is doing very well. The teacher used him again as an example...since he is so stinking smart. He played well with the other dogs and got along with everyone there. He especially liked this female lab. After about 10 minutes of running around we had to call them back to us and have them sit. Hannibal decided that he was done. He laid down and would not get up. HA! The next time we let them go to play, Hannibal just laid there while the other dogs walked and jumped on him. It was adorable since he is double and triple the size of the other dogs. After we got them back on the leashes, which wasn't hard for me, she went over various questions people had. Hannibal proceeded to snore and fart throughout the rest of the class. This little old lady next to me kept going "shew". I felt so bad, but he was sleepy and he is always gassy.
He is getting so big. I don't realize how much until I see the picture of him the day I brought him home. I need to weigh him. UGH! I have to teach this big boy to get up in my truck by himself. He is killing my back. I guess since he isn't helping me that much, I am going to try teaching him to jump into the back. There is plenty of room for him back there, and may be safer than the front seat anyway.
We don't have class next week, they are having orientation, but it will pick back up the week after.
